The STICK Project (www.stickproject.eu) is formulating a programme which will enable high-performance, athletic university students to integrate their sporting and academic careers more successfully, within the framework of the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
The STICK Project will now implement a pilot programme, which will address the overall aims of the project, and will involve an academic and hockey exchange programme within hockey clubs and universities involved in the project.
In a meeting with representatives of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the EC, and in a second meeting with the President of the EHF, the outcomes of the project, to date, were shared.
The results of the pilot programme will be made accessible to all universities and sport clubs, which would like to implement the exchange programme, for the benefit of their high-level student athletes.
The STICK Project consortium comprises 5 European hockey clubs and their local universities: Atlètic Terrassa HC and University Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain; KHC Dragons and University of Antwerp in Belgium; Pembroke HC and Dublin City University in Ireland; Beeston HC and Nottingham Trent University in the UK; and HC Rotterdam and Erasmus Rotterdam University in the Netherlands.
